Official NV20 presentation
nVidia will apparently present the GeForce2 successor and currently known under the code name NV20 at the Intel Developer Forum on February 27th.
Although nothing is known about nVidia's naming plans, it is clear that the name of the chip will most likely not be GeForce3, as nVidia has set itself the goal of introducing a completely new technology every 12 months. The last completely new introduction was the GeForce 256, whereby the GeForce2 was only a further development. According to current information, the NV20 should be operated with a chip clock of 300MHz. The chip has four rendering pipelines with three texture units per pipeline. Furthermore, a 0.15 µm manufacturing technology will be used in the NV20, which among other things makes such high clock frequencies possible in the first place. However, since I'm sure that nVidia has a big surprise up its sleeve for all of us, I'm holding back on further details about the chip for the time being.
