nVidia's NV20 breaks all records
nVidia's new 0.15 µm graphics chip is said to be twice as complex as the GeForce2 GTS with 50 million transistors and also more complex than the Pentium4 (42 million).
The clock frequency of the NV20 is expected to be up to 300 MHz, memory manufacturers such as Infinion or Samsung are already working on correspondingly fast DDR DRAMs. According to the (very rare) official information from nVidia, there will be a lot of new technologies in this chip; a curved surfaces module and technology similar to ATI's Hyper-Z are just a few. The price of NV20 graphics cards should be around 1000 DM and more. The price is interesting because it should be used in the MS X-Box, among other things.
