nVidia soon with its own sound cards?
It looks like there is not only the possibility for nVidia to get started in sound card production, this has apparently already happened. The MCPX (media and communications processor for X-Box) developed by nVidia (in cooperation with Ex-Aureal employees) for the X-Box is also responsible for the sound of the X-Box.
The question now is whether nVidia sees this as the first step in conquering the PC market. Neither the infrastructure nor the financial resources should be a problem for the chip giant. Furthermore, many card manufacturers are demanding (inexpensive) alternatives to the monopoly Creative. The stars are so favorable as seldom before. Whether nVidia dares to take the step may (still) be doubted. However, after entering the mainboard chipset market, further deversification of production cannot be ruled out.
