nForce 2 premiere on July 16 - delivery unknown

After July 15th was traded as the day of the official presentation of the nForce 2 (Crush 18) a few days ago, according to DigiTimes, the 16th of the month of nVidia now seems to be the day. However, there is nothing new to report regarding the specifications.

There will still be two versions of the chipset. The Crush 18G with integrated graphics unit at the level of the GeForce 4 MX440 and the Crush 18D without an integrated graphics core. Thus, the Crush 18G should beat the currently available competitor chips with integrated graphics by far. Further features of both variants are the support of DDR400, USB 2.0, FireWire, ATA133 and probably still the sound standard DolbyDigital 5.1.

But even if the launch is less than ten days away, we were through one informed source that it will take some time to go to market. And the past shows that traditionally at nVidia there are often weeks between the presentation and availability of the first products, as the GeForce 4 Ti4X00 recently demonstrated.
