New 'Windows Messenger' in Windows XP

Microsoft announced today that it will integrate the new 'Windows Messenger' into Windows XP. This is a new version of the MSN Messenger. With the new Windows Messenger, PC communication should not only be limited to text messages in the future.

Instead, it should simply be possible in the future to hold video and voice conferences or with several people in one application (e.g. Word) work. Nevertheless, Windows Messenger should be fully compatible with older versions of MSN Messenger.

Windows Messenger should be made available to Windows XP beta testers for testing today.
