New Windows 2000 update function against pirated copies
In order to track down illegal installations of Windows 2000, Microsoft has revised the Windows update function. The new Windows update function is automatically applied to every user who selects the update function.
The same Submitted the new data protection guidelines, which include drastic changes. It then states, among other things, that Microsoft will immediately transmit the product ID if the update function is used. In addition, a GUID (Globally Unique Identifier) is stored on the system for unique identification, similar to Windows XP. The new data protection guidelines also state that the Windows update logs how many clients are online on the update page and whether the installation was successful. As with the last 'Send home' message, Microsoft promises that no personal data will be transmitted and that all data required for the update will be deleted after the connection is terminated.
