New Whistler Build on the Horizon
Microsoft will today release a new beta version of the common successor to Windows 2000 and Windows Me for beta testers to download. The build of this version will be 2410, while Whistler Beta 1 still had build number 2296.
So far, Microsoft has not made any comments to the beta testers about the version updates, but the new version is supposed to have improved mechanisms against this Include copying of software by creating a personal identification code for the hardware components installed on the system. Specifically, this would mean that Microsoft wants to bind Windows to the hardware and not to the user who installed it, which has already been hotly debated in the past. However, it should not be forgotten that Whistler is still in the development phase and can still change a lot before the product is finished.
