New virus worm 'Yarner' on the way
A worm with the name 'Yarner', which pretends to be the warning program for 0190 dialers from trojanerinfo.de, has been spreading in Germany since yesterday and is sending itself as an email.
According to statements by the trojanerinfo.de operator, the worm is a variant of the ANSET worm, which was used around was up to four months. Yarner, which, like the ANSET worm, disguises itself as a Trojan horse scanner ANTS, flutters into the mailboxes as an e-mail .exe attachment. Camouflaged with the same icon, however, it does much more damage. According to Andreas Haak, the author of the ANTS trojan scanner, the worm renders the system unusable by writing garbage data on the hard drive. As if that weren't enough, the worm looks for email addresses on the system in order to spread itself. The correct 0190 dialer warning program is only available on the trojanerinfo.de website, according to the operators, and is in no way sent by email.
