New VIA PCI patch
After a patch from VIA was released at the beginning of January, a new version has now been released that significantly increases the speed of data transfer when using IDE RAID controllers on boards with VIA chipset under Windows.
As can be read in a small test at tecChannel , the patch seems to solve the known problems and accelerates data transfer via the PCI bus by 20 to 30 MB/s. Almost all of the IDE RAID controllers tested now reach the 100 MB/s mark in burst mode. The patch now also works with the VIA KT133A and MVP3 and can change the rates there in connection with a Promise Ultra133 TX2 from 78.2 to 108.3 MB/s, or from 64.1 to 102.2 MB/s increase. You can post your experiences with the use of the new patch in our forum . As usual, you can download the patch from us.
