New prices for AMD CPUs
After Intel's price reduction yesterday, AMD is now following suit. With the exception of the top model, 7-19% of all CPUs in the current range are nibbled off. By and large, the dimensions of the price reduction correspond to those of Intel, which were also between 7 and 18%.
After just three months of production, the Athlon XP 1500+ is the first model that is made for reasons of profitability falls off the list. It can also be seen that for AMD the pain threshold seems to be around 70 or 130 US dollars for the Duron or AthlonXP, below that it is better to let the processors run out instead of squandering them and thus at the same time the border between high-end and To blur budget class.
As usual, the following prices apply to large customers when purchasing quantities of 1000. They are therefore not to be understood as retail prices.
