New Pentiums and Celerons in old mainboards
A new CPU adapter from Powerleap enables a new Intel processor with socket 478 to be plugged into a mainboard with the 'dead' socket 423, which was used by the older generation of Pentium 4 processors.
In addition to the newer Pentium 4 processors, the new generation of Celerons with the Willamette core can also be used with the adapter. This means that owners of Socket 423 motherboards can also benefit from the faster processors without having to buy a new motherboard. More information can be found on the homepage of Powerleap. The PL-P4/W adapter will likely be available for $ 35 after its launch at Comdex on June 17th.
