New Pentium 4 benchmarks published

At Aces Hardware there are numerous new Pentium 4 benchmarks that come from a Japanese PC magazine called PC2000. A product sample of the Pentium 4 with a clock frequency of 1.2 GHz, a 32MB GeForce 2 GTS (Detonator 5.22) and a Pentium 4 reference motherboard with Intel i850 and 256MB RAM was used as a test system.

The comparison system was 1.13 GHz Pentium III and 1.1 GHz Athlon with only 128MB RAM.

As you can see, the Pentium 4 System defeated the competition in practically all disciplines. In Quake 3 it can beat the Pentium III and Atlhon in low resolutions, but then it drops off very strongly. All in all, these values confirm the assumptions and show that the Pentium 4 is clearly inferior to the equally clocked predecessor and the AMD Athlon in software that does not offer SSE2 optimization.
