New Pentium 3 stepping

In Japan recently a Pentium 3 with cDO stepping appeared for the first time, which of course does its job without any problems in conventional mainboards with the 370 socket.

The cDO stepping should be essential overclock better than the previous stepping. So far, however, it has only been used in processors with a 133MHz frontside bus. Only the 1100MHz Pentium 3 with 100MHz FSB announced for June could also be manufactured with this stepping. Celeron processors with 100MHz FSB and a corresponding stepping are still a long time coming, but could turn out to be a feast for overclockers again.
