New nVidia chips in early August

After the biggest nVidia competitor ATi was able to come up with new products last week, the GeForce producer is now also moving again. After all, ATi's new Radeon 9700 (formerly R300) is superior to the GeForce4 Ti 4600 (formerly NV25). The nVidia NV28 and NV30 should fix it.

The GeForce4 MX (code name NV17) will also be reissued in the form of the NV18. Both the NV28 and the NV18 are just a version of the previous chip that has been expanded to include AGP 8x support. Further innovations are not expected. According to the latest information, these two chips will see the light of day in August. The NV30, which, if one follows the current nVidia naming philosophy, could bear the name GeForce5, is to be presented in October. The first details about the NV3X generation became known recently. At the SIGGRAPH 2002 this week nVidia wants to announce further details. As always, we will keep you updated.
