New MS Office in spring 2003

Version 11 of the Microsoft Office Suite is expected to come onto the market in spring 2003, but the manufacturer is still not sure whether the new version should have a special nickname.

The main feature is the constant online presence of the new Office version, for which there will also be paid web services. Of course, the connection to the '.NET service' must not be missing, and the VisualBasic support remains integrated, although there should be hardly any changes to the current version in VB. Woody Leonhard from the development team of the office suite has now announced that the name 'Office.NET' is already being used by another company and has been protected. While the standard name 'Office 11' is still being considered, the name 'Next Generation Office' (NGO) has been removed from the planning. The first 'Preview Beta' is to be sent to the testers between September and November, before the 'Broad Reach Beta' is to be sent to Microsoft business customers, among others, at the beginning of 2003.
