New mobile Pentium III presented
Intel presented an even more economical mobile Pentium III at the Intel Developer Forum, which is only used in notebooks. The Low Voltage Pentium III runs at 700 MHz and only needs 1.35 volts core voltage, whereby the average power consumption is reduced to 10 watts.
When battery operated, the processor runs at 500 MHz with the help of SpeedStep technology and has a core voltage of 1.1 volts, which consumes just 5 watts.
The mobile Pentium III works with an FSB of 100 MHz. Like his desktop colleague, he has 256 KB in the integrated L2 cache. The production takes place in the 0.18 micron process. The OEM price is said to be $ 316 at release.
