New Intel factory

During these difficult times for the chip industry, Intel was able to complete its new factory in the state of Arizona. It's called Fab22 and uses the latest technology to produce wafers that are needed for the production of chips.

Intel has announced the opening of a new factory called Fab22. 200mm wafers for processors in 0.13 micron technology are to be manufactured there. These circuits are so small that you would have to lay about 1000 of them side by side to get the thickness of a human hair. Fab22 is in Arizona, or more precisely next to Fab12 in Chandler, and currently employs 10,000 people. It was built in a record time of 18 months and cost two billion US dollars.
