More and more fully graphic web browsers for Linux are released. In addition to the Netscape Communicator, Opera, KDE-Konquerer and the Mozilla, Galeon is now joining them. Like Netscape 6, it is based on the Mozilla Gecko rendering engine. Version 1.0 of the new browser is kept slim. It comes with its own surface, which can be customized with skins. The browser does not yet have any additional programs such as e-mail clients, instant messaging clients or download managers. The browser software offers some interesting functions for this. Among other things, the handling of popups, cookies or images can be configured very well. The only requirements to install Galeon are the latest versions of Gnome and Mozilla.
