New fees in the DSL market through RegTP
The regulatory authority for telecommunications and post has imposed new prices on Telekom for line sharing. In doing so, it remained well below the prices demanded by Telekom, which is intended to 'significantly intensify' competition on the DSL market.
For example, a monthly provision of the customer line costs 4.77 euros - Telekom had 14 , 65 euros required. For the takeover without further switching work at the end customer, the Telekom demanded 153.44 euros, the RegTP decided 85.61 euros. In the case of termination it basically looks exactly the same, because at 72.10 euros the price set by the RegTP is well below the 117.73 euros that Telekom had applied for. It remains to be seen, however, whether this will change Telekom's DSL market share among private customers by more than 95% and thus create more competition. The German market is still waiting for a reasonable narrowband flat rate.
