New Duron in January?

As 'The Inquirer' claims to have found out, the next clock rate at Duron should be reached this month. Allegedly, the market launch of the AMD Duron with a clock rate of 1.3 GHz is planned for January 20th or 21st.

The current top model with 1.2 GHz was released in mid-November and that too The new model will continue to be based on the 'Morgan' core in 0.18 µ technology. The FSB clock stays at 200 MHz just like the 128 KB L1 cache and the 64 KB L2 cache. AMD announced last year that it would increase the current Duron model up to 1.4 GHz, and in the course of the first half of 2002 they will present the successor based on the 'Appaloosa' in 0.13 µ technology.
