New chipset from VIA for notebooks
The new Pro Savage DDR KN266 from the chipset manufacturer VIA now also brings the popular and of course very fast DDR technology to notebooks. It also supports the new AMD power-saving functions - the so-called Power-Now! 2.0.
The Pro Savage DDR KN266 from VIA is said to be around 30% faster than its predecessor KN133. This performance boost is likely due in part to support for 64-bit DDR266 memory modules. All new mobile processors from AMD can be used. The bus is up to 200 MHz fast, the graphics part of the chip consists of the ProSavage8 from S3, which supports the AGP8x bandwidth. The 2-channel AC'97 audio solution, the MC'97 modem, support for up to ATA100 and four USB ports are also included. Another version also has a network connection from 3Com.
