New chip technology from IBM

IBM has developed a new technique for isolating the circuits in the processors so that they can be placed even closer together, which creates even more performance. The isolation reduces the disturbance caused by the electrical impulses as they race through the CPU's millions of copper wires.

IBM has developed a new technique for isolating the circuitry in the processors so that they are placed even closer together which creates even more performance. The isolation reduces the disturbance caused by the electrical pulses as they race through the CPU's millions of copper wires. The distance between them can be reduced by a quarter with the new technology. The first chips with the new insulation should be available in the coming year.
