New Celeron and new Pentium 4 in May
The details of the presentation of the new Pentium 4 with a front-side bus of 133 MHz (Quad-Pumped 533 MHz) are gradually increasing. The presentation of the new Celeron with the Willamette core, which was used in the old Pentium 4, is getting closer.
Since the new Pentium 4 in particular will need a chipset for successful operation, the processor with a system clock of 133 MHz, the introduction of the new processor should logically take place together with the introduction of the corresponding chipset. For the new Pentium 4 this is the i845E chipset, for the new Celeron the i845GL it is a cheap version of the i845G that comes with onboard graphics but without an external AGP port. The last known launch date for the chipsets mentioned is May 20, 2002. If everything goes smoothly, Intel should announce new processors on this date.
