My.MP3.com is chargeable
MP3.com is reviving its controversial offer, My.MP3.com, but the service will be chargeable from now on! After the lost copyright license battle, MP3.com had negotiated music licenses in return for 170 million dollars.
This means that only CD titles or songs are offered for which MP3.com also has the licenses. Furthermore, if the user wants to listen to one of the 750,000 songs, he has to prove that he is in possession of the original CD. A free basic service should also allow the storage of 25 own CDs. If you want to save more, you have to pay an annual fee of 49.95 dollars (almost 110 marks).
