MSI presents board with KT266A and USB 2.0

With the 'K7T266 Pro2-RU', MSI today presented the successor to the extremely successful KT7266. The board not only has the improved and much faster revision of the VIA KT266, the KT266A, but also the relatively new USB 2.0 standard, which is also compatible with older peripherals.

Further features are an EIDE Raid 0.1 controller, up to 3 GByte DDR RAM, five PCI slots and a CNR and AGP slot. Overclocking of the FSB as well as the multiplier is easily possible in the BIOS. Two other features are MSI's 'Smart Key' technology, which prevents unauthorized persons from using the PC using a Windows tool, and the so-called 'D-Bracket' technology, which guides the diagnostic LEDs out of the housing so that the boot process and possible errors can also be checked with the housing closed. This version for 402DM as well as a version without Raid and USB 2.0-NEC host controller for 351DM will be available in stores from mid-October.
