More power for the music industry in exchange for file sharing

In order to be able to take action against file sharing sites like KaZaA, Morpheus and Co., the US MP Howard Berman wants to submit a bill that should give the film and music industry more power in the event of copyright infringement.

The Democratic US MP particularly denounced the fact that file sharing networks are allowed to develop better and better methods to continue exchanging data, but the owners of the copyright are not allowed to take action against the file sharing networks in the event of a violation of the copyright. That is why he calls in his bill to allow the film and music industry to make them unattractive by deliberately smuggling false titles into file sharing networks. Another option would be for the US MP to overload specific users with download requests. That sounds like DoS attacks. However, Howard Berman is convinced of the potential that P2P networks have. At the moment, however, there is no sensible solution to the problem of piracy via file sharing networks, he justifies his bill.
