Mobile Athlons are coming in March
The mobile Athlon processors from AMD will probably be launched by AMD for the first time in March. Then there will probably be a few models with different clock rates.
In any case, one of these processors will be included 900 MHz clocked. The mobile Athlons are based on the new and more energy-saving Palomino core and also offer AMD's 'PowerNow' energy-saving technology. This technology reduces the voltage and clock frequency of the CPU when it is little used. Hewlett-Packard and Compaq will be the first to buy the new mobile Athlons and will also present the first notebooks with these processors in March. Intel will reduce the prices of its mobile Pentium III and Celeron processors by an average of 30% from Monday, although they currently have no competition in this market. Perhaps this is already a first step by Intel in order not to have to give up its current position to AMD.
