Microsoft's .NET initiative also for Linux?
After Microsoft bought into the Canadian software house Corel not too long ago, Corel is now revealing some details of the agreement. Accordingly, Microsoft can commission Corel to port .NET to Linux.
In the event that this happens, Microsoft will receive all rights to this Linux version. .NET is Microsoft's vision of the digital future that will bring the Internet, PC and mobile devices together. The first programs with .NET technology will include Windows.NET 1.0 (Windows code name Whistler) or Office 2002, although Microsoft will sooner or later integrate .NET into all software.
