Microsoft with record results
Microsoft achieved revenues of 7.74 billion US dollars (8.7 billion €) in the second quarter of its fiscal year, an increase of 18 percent from 6.55 billion US dollars compared to the same quarter of the previous year.
The gross profit is 2.84 billion US dollars (3.19 billion €), after deduction $ 2.28 billion remains with the private plaintiffs' class action reserve of $ 660 million. This results in a profit of 0.41 US dollars (0.46 €) per share.
Microsoft justifies the high numbers with the introduction of Windows XP, the Xbox and MSN7, Windows XP alone has been around since the Introduction sold 17 million times. The Xbox has been sold 1.5 million times and the number of MSN subscribers rose to 8 million users.
