Microsoft Office XP in the test: The new Office version can do that
As we already reported in the news, Outlook also blocks various file formats if they are received as an attachment to an email. For example, access to * .exe files is blocked and the user has no chance to switch it off, except to change it directly in the registry in a laborious way:
Furthermore, it is now possible to give the appointments in the calendar different colors so that you can see at a glance whether it is a private appointment or a phone call. In addition, you can choose whether you still need to prepare or plan your journey here. You can of course adapt the meanings of the colors to your own ideas. Collaboration is also very important to the appointments, as in the whole of Office XP.
In Office XP, Microsoft has now said goodbye to the unpopular assistant and is also promoting them vigorously . So now a farewell website has been created for Karl Klammer, the standard assistant in Office 2000. There you can also download two, soon three videos and a song about farewell to Karl Klammer. The smart tags and work areas that are not quite as intrusive will replace the wizards. Die-hard fans of the wizards can also switch them on manually without any problems.
Overall, Office XP has become a lot easier to use, but also more powerful. Everyone has to decide for themselves whether they really need the new features. Of course, if you just want to write letters, you don't need Office XP. Or as the Microsoft employee who introduced me to the new Office XP features said: If you only want to write letters, you can of course be satisfied with Wordpad.
