Microsoft is allowed to use the name XBox
As already reported in the past, Microsoft had done a bit of sloppy preparatory work when choosing a name for its own game console XBox, because a group of companies called XBox Technologies was able to show corresponding naming rights at the beginning of 1999.
Of course, this was particularly tragic for Microsoft, as the name 'XBox' was actually just the code name for the product, which was due to its wide acceptance and Awareness has become the product name of their own game console. But you wouldn't be the largest software company in the world if you had to give in here. After initial negotiations failed and the company XBox Technologies saw no alternative but to file a lawsuit, it was still possible to get through to new negotiations. As can now be seen from a press release by the two companies, XBox Technologies has agreed to change the company name to which the company has previously held the trademark rights. The amount of money Microsoft had to pay for this success is not known, but a representative from XBox Technologies was very positive about the agreement.
