Microsoft has to integrate Sun's Java
While Microsoft is always looking for new ways to make life difficult for competitors with components that are already integrated into Windows, Sun has now achieved a tentative stage victory.
According to an injunction, Microsoft must now implement the Java Virtual Machine in their products and may not continue to rely on incompatible Java versions to make life difficult for third parties. There was clearly a violation of the antitrust laws. Over the holidays, both parties should now agree on the implementation of this demand. However, Microsoft has already appealed and it is assumed that the entire process can drag on for another year.
