Microsoft creates 5000 new jobs
The well-known Redmond-based software company Microsoft wants to hire 5000 new employees and also invest more money in new products. For example, spending on research and development in the 2002/2003 financial year was quickly increased to $ 5.2 billion.
This corresponds to an increase of 20 percent compared to the previous financial year, according to company founder Bill Gates to analysts. Each division has been divided into working groups that are supposed to develop new ideas for future products together. Commenting on the ongoing crisis in the technology sector, Bill Gates said:
'We have always had a long-term vision for our company - even in times of economic challenge and uncertainty.'
You don't have to look too pessimistic into the future at Microsoft, since sales increased by around ten percent in the fourth quarter of the current fiscal year. Thus the profit rises to 1.53 billion dollars. Microsoft was even able to slightly exceed the expectations of the analysts and generate a higher profit than initially assumed.
