Microsoft confirms new product names
After initial rumors about a new naming strategy for future Windows and Office products, Microsoft has now confirmed the new eXPerienced name in a press release. The official name of the Windows 2000 and Office 2000 successors will be Windows XP or Office XP.
This step is justified by Microsoft with the fact that they wanted to show the great user experience that went into these products is.
'These breakthrough versions of Windows and Office will give people the most powerful end-to-end computing experiences ever available,' said Bill Gates, chairman and chief software architect of Microsoft. 'The coming generation of Windows XP and Office XP will enable customers to communicate and collaborate more effectively, be more creative and productive, and have more fun with technology.'
