Micron on the way to becoming the global market leader

The deal is not yet perfect, but if the US antitrust authorities approve the purchase of Dominion Semiconductor, based in Manassaus, Virginia, Micron could become the world leader in DRAM in one fell swoop.

Both the sales and the number of units would still be ahead of the previous industry giant Samsung after buying the currently sixth-placed company. As a positive side effect, Micron would also 'inherit' a number of Rambus licenses.
