Maxtor announces new SCSI disks
Hard drive manufacturer Maxtor is bringing two new SCSI hard drives onto the market, the Atlas 10K IV and the 15K W, which are specially designed for continuous use in servers. These are the successors to the Atlas 10K III, which was introduced just two months ago.
eAs John Joseph, Vice President for Marketing of the Server Products Group emphasized, the Atlas 10K IV is characterized above all by its low access time and outstanding Data transfer rate off. Both have the U320 SCSI interface and are available in sizes from 18 GB to 146 GB. Further features are the 8 MB cache, as well as an average data transfer rate of 72 MB/s for the Atlas 10K IV, and an average access time of 4.4 ms. The availability of the new hard drives is planned for the fourth quarter of this year.
