Mainboard from MSI with the new KT333 chipset from VIA
Simultaneously with the presentation of the new KT333 chipset from VIA, MSI is launching the KT3 Ultra-ARU with the brand new KT333 chipset from VIA on the German market. The bright red Socket-A mainboard supports the processors AMD Athlon, AMD Athlon XP and AMD Duron from 800 MHz to 1666 MHz (Athlon XP 2000+).
The KT3 Ultra-ARU (MS-6380E) is equipped with two USB 2.0 ports and a Promise ATA133 controller that supports raid levels 0 and 1. Up to 3 GB DDR SDRAM can be installed in the 3 available memory locations. There are five PCI slots, one APG 4x slot and one CNR slot, e.g. for modem cards, for expansion. MSI also took care of the sound, for this a 6-channel sound chip from Realtek is available and allows listening enjoyment in 5.1 sound format. The optional bracket has a coaxial and an optical SPDIF connection for the transmission of digital audio data. Also available on the bracket: two line-out outputs for the four analog outputs. The overclockers have also been thought of. In addition to the FSB and the multiplier, you can also set the voltage separately for the CPU, the memory and the AGP slot. Security has also been considered. To protect the system from damage, the temperature diode of the XP processors is read and the mainboard is switched off in good time. The end customer price is about 210 euros, delivery is already in full swing.
