Logitech with THX computer speaker system
Logitech will be showing its new Z series of PC speakers in Germany for the first time at CeBIT 2002. The complete series will consist of three loudspeaker systems named Z-560, Z-540 and Z-340. The flagship of the series can even shine with a THX certification.
The 5-part speaker system with surround sound offers 400 watts of surround power, making it the second product worldwide and even the first in Europe with this award. The THX quality inspection tests the sound performance, the user interface and the structure of the sound system and is intended to ensure the purest sound with enormous power.
The four boxes are equipped with polished aluminum outputs. The system has a SoundTouch Control Center with separate controls for M3D (M3D matrix technology for realistic surround sound from 2-channel stereo sources), volume, fader and bass for fine-tuning the listening experience. The feet allow the speakers to be rotated around their own axis, and the satellites can also be wall-mounted by removing the feet. The THX certificate for the Z-560 guarantees the customer PC entertainment of the purest sound and enormous performance.
As already mentioned, the new Z series includes two other models. The Z-540 is a 5-part loudspeaker system with 40 watts of power. It is equipped with Logitech's proprietary subwoofer with dynamic control. The system also offers M3D matrix surround sound. Again, the boxes are to be attached to the wall or on the table. The smallest model in the Z series, the 3-part Z-340, still offers 32 watts of power. It is also equipped with the Logitech subwoofer with dynamic control, but dispenses with the M3D matrix technology.
The three speaker systems will be available at the end of March and change for just under 70 euros (Z-340), just under 100 Euros (Z540) or 299 euros (Z-560) the owner.
