Linux 2.4 kernel released
Linus Torvalds has now published the final version of the 2.4.0 Linux kernel on kernel.org. The new kernel brings among other things improvements in the support of several CPUs and USB.
Furthermore, the management of hardware resources has been improved, and plug and play for ISA cards and ACPI has been added. Since the rush to ftp.kernel.org is very large, you should avoid a download to the German mirror ftp.de.kernel.org .
