KryoTech Athlon with 1.6GHz

Sys Technology has announced an Athlon system with the famous KryoTech cooling system called Cold Fusion. The processor is cooled down to approx. -40 °, which enables a fabulous clock frequency of 1.6 GHz with completely stable operation.

But what use is the fastest processor if the environment is not right? Actually not much, but in the case of the Cold Fusion you only find top peripherals in the system. A GeForce2 Ultra with 64MB is used as the graphics card. The chipset used is currently still kept secret, but it should support DDR-SDRAM, of which 256MB are used in the system. Another highlight is the use of two 7200UPM ATA100 hard drives, which are connected to a RAID 0 network via a promise controller. Sys plans to bring the system onto the market at the end of October/beginning of November at an as yet unknown price.
