Kingston begins shipping PC2700

As the memory manufacturer Kingston announced in a press release a few minutes ago, the PC2700 DDR-RAM clocked at 333MHz will be delivered to system integrators with immediate effect. The memory corresponds to the current JEDEC specifications and has been extensively tested on the SiS645 chip.

Modules with a size of 128MB or 256MB are currently available. Mass production is scheduled to begin in the first half of 2002. The next few days should show whether this step will also affect other manufacturers. So far, most producers have been reluctant to announce the PC2700.
