KaZaA and Morpheus in the line of fire

KaZaA and Morpheus in the line of fire

The film and music industry with its branch associations RIAA and MPAA is now firing on Sharman Networks - lawyers. Recording Industry Association of America and Motion Picture Association of America want to proceed with a lawsuit against the 'FastTrack' network of Sharman Networks, without which KaZaA and Morpheus would not function.

Interestingly, the company only recently had itss Headquarters moved to Australia to avoid such a lawsuit in Europe. The head of Sharman Networks has not yet wanted to comment and claims he knows nothing about a lawsuit. Even if there were a lawsuit, the chances of success would be extremely slim, since the network is organized in a decentralized manner and therefore cannot be switched off. The process is scheduled to begin on October 1st.
