It starts in May: T-DSL 1500
The time has come from May. In four large German cities, Munich, Stuttgart, Berlin and Hamburg, you can surf twice as fast for 9.99 euros surcharge, then at 1.5 Mbit/s instead of 768 Kbit/s, as with normal T-DSL. However, the provider must also support the faster line.
However, the new T-DSL line only doubles the speed in the download direction, namely from 768 KBit/s to 1500 KBit/s. But not the upload speed. Instead of double that would be 256 kbit/s (now 128 kbit/s) only 192 kbit/s are possible. At the moment only Tiscali and T-Online seem to be prepared for the higher speed of the DSL line. According to a spokeswoman for Tiscalis, access to the volume tariffs they offer is also possible with the new T-DSL 1500. It looks similar at T-Online. The Zeit tariffs, such as Surftime and T-Online Eco, are fully supported. But not the popular T-DSL Flat rate for 25 euros. We are currently working on a special tariff for those who order T-DSL access and will be presented in the next few weeks.
