Iomega Predator in the test: external USB 2.0 burner
When it comes to reading speed, Iomega can compete with the Predator for both data and audio, albeit just barely Push the end of a CD in front of Yamaha. On average, however, both products are on the whole the same, as Yamaha has the lead when it comes to reading audio and Iomega is ahead when reading data, although the Predator has a very interesting curve shape when reading audio, but it has no advantage has another disadvantage. The Asus model can still maintain the lead due to the higher reading speed. What is also noticeable here is that the advertised 40-fold reading speed as with the Yamaha burner is only achieved with an 80 minute CD.
When reading data CDs, the Predator is even above the mentioned six times the speed when it is connected to the USB 1.1 bus, but again under it for audio CDs.
