Internet Explorer 5.5 is out
Microsoft has now finally released Internet Explorer 5.5 to the public. However, up to now - contrary to the previous company policy - only the international versions have been released for download.
The English version is expected within the next week. One of the most important new features (in my opinion) is the page preview when printing. This way you can see cut lines on the paper in advance. However, there still seem to be some problems with Java. For example, ChatCity only works if you switch off the box indicating whether the browser supports Java. Internet Explorer 5.5 is also integrated in Windows Me, of which the English version was released for production on June 19, 2000 (RTM = Release to manufacturing). So it's all the more curious that Microsoft hasn't released the English IE5.5 for a long time.
