Intel releases information on Brookdale

On the occasion of the abandonment of the Rambus memory technology, Intel has now announced initial information on the new Pentium 4 chipset, code name Brookdale. The new 'Brookdale' is due to appear in the third quarter of 2001 and will support both PC133 SDRAM and the faster DDR SDRAM.

This would be Intel's first non-Rambus chipset in a long time.
