Intel Pentium 4 without serial number

According to an anonymous source at Intel, contrary to previous plans, the processor manufacturer does not intend to integrate a serial number into the Intel Pentium 4 (code name: Willamette). In this way, the chip manufacturer learns from past mistakes and tries to avoid protests such as those that occurred when the serial number was introduced with the Pentium III.

Furthermore, in addition to the serial number, Intel also has support for hardware-supported digital signatures deleted for the time being.
