Intel Pentium 4 2.2 GHz and AthlonXP 2000+ in the test: The battle of the titans

Seti @ Home

Of course, we are particularly proud of the inclusion of Seti's text client in our comparison test @Home (3.03). Due to the long runtime, this should give a clear picture of the performance of the individual processors. In order to keep the results comparable, the same work unit with an angle rate of 0.417 was always used.

As we can see, the Pentium 4 2.2 GHz is two minutes earlier the given work unit as the Athlon XP 2000+. The 200 MHz lower clocked Pentium 4, however, has to admit defeat to the rest of the test field. Especially in Seti, it becomes clear how strong an increase in the processor speed can have, even if the results are only 20 minutes apart between the fastest and slowest processor.
