Intel cut prices

As already expected, Intel has again reduced the prices for some processors quite significantly by up to 29 percent. The processor manufacturer is thus initiating the next round in the incessant price war and would like to make life more difficult for AMD.

The following prices apply from today to the purchase of 1000 pieces.

Prices for the purchase of 1000 pieces
Processor old price new price reduction Pentium 4 2.0 GHz $ 562 $ 401 -29% 1.9 GHz $ 375 $ 273 -27% 1.8 GHz $ 256 $ 225 -12% 1.7 GHz $ 193 $ 193 - Pentium III Tualatin (512KB L2) 1.26 GHz $ 337 $ 300 -11% 1.13 GHz $ 257 $ 235 -9% Pentium III Tualatin 1.20 GHz $ 268 $ 241 -10% 1.13 GHz $ 225 $ 193 -14% Pentium III Coppermine 1, 1 GHz $ 225 $ 193 -14% 1.0 GHz $ 193 $ 173 -10%

The price of the remaining processor series has not changed ert. Only the 2GHz Xeon with Pentium 4 core, which is not included in the above list, was also reduced in price by 26 percent. In summary, one can say that Intel wants to position the Pentium 4 more strongly around the market with this price reduction and therefore has not reduced the prices of the Pentium III too much and will lower them.
