Intel and VIA end litigation

The legal dispute between Intel and VIA over the infringement of patents in the AGP 2.0 standard for Athlon chipsets is over. According to a press release from VIA, Intel withdrew the charges on Tuesday and thus ended the proceedings.

Intel, on the other hand, speaks of an agreement between the two companies, although Intel has already suffered several defeats in the proceedings ( we reported). In any case, VIA does not need to pay any license fees to Intel for its Athlon chipsets. However, the process between the two companies continues with the P4X266 chipset from VIA for the Pentium 4 processor. Here you can read the press releases from Intel and VIA .
